Muddy Paws tournament in Salem OR

last weekend Unorthodogs ran in our first NAFA tournament, hosted by Muddy Paws-A-Flyin. We're thrilled to announce that we came in first place on Saturday with a best time of 21.450.

it was a blazing 95 degrees with lots of humidity to keep us toasty, but we stayed cool in our crating area. Amy did a great job finding us the perfect spot under a big shade tree, separated from the racing lanes so the dogs got to rest, and next to the wonderful Matsqui Flyball Club who kept us well fed all weekend with belgian waffles and watermelon. YUM! Big thanks to Cathy Kenzie of Dogwood Pacesetters who called our passes and coached us at the line all weekend.

Hank, Molly and Zark all ran their fastest times ever at this tournament, in spite of the brutal heat. Hank and Zark are both running over a second faster than they were 10 months ago and we are extremely proud of Amy and Nicole for all the hard work they put into training. more pics from this tournament are in the gallery.

In the gallery there's a picture of Hank going over the jump when he's racing the other dog. He looksalmost exactly like the logo! Hee he. He just needs the tatoo.

Thanks Guys,
We did have fun,it was a Sweaty Summer tourney.
In true Unothodogs style we were serious when in the ring, but outside the ring... Well, we don't fly the Jolly Rodger flag for nothing!
The dogs and Handlers worked well together which is the best part of this game, and everyone stepped up and adjusted when we needed.
Thanks for the comments. It's great to get feedback, and build community.
Who knows, maybe we'll see you in the racing lanes! :)

Hey I just noticed how similar Hank and Rube look in those pics, their posture is almost identical!! (Hank is a little lower on the box, but it's still cool).
