Creating your Pack
Understanding dog pack structure is very important for a flyball team. These aren't just 4-6 dogs who get together occasionally to run, these are a pack, and as in every pack, there's a definite structure. One of the things we like to do after practice every week is let the dogs run around and play.
This is a nice reward for excellent work, and hopefully helps build good work ethic in the dogs, plus they get to interact in a non-racing way. They all seem to understand exactly who to play with and who to give space to. For more information on pack dynamics, please read Pack leader in a Human/Canine pack by Phouka.

What a great post! Flyball practice
should be the highlight of the week
for the dogs. Letting them be dogs
after they have finished working
adds to the fun. Great video too!
thanks Robbie - I know the dogs really love it. just like we did back in the old CE days... so much fun.
